Most people familiar with me and my work would associate me more readily with photography. In truth the pencil entered my hand long before the camera and even once the camera had taken route, I quickly realised that by redrawing/re-examining my photographs I understood far better and faster the tonal relationships and qualities in my images and that I was working with. Redrawing improved both my traditional and photographic practice and so (from time to time) I have continued to do it. That and it's relaxing 

This sketch was made/drawn after a digital capture, for practice of ; study, tone and shade, drawing and pre analytical photographic practice. It is predominantly Cretacolor Monolith graphite sketch sticks on Daler Rowney FGHW 200GSM A4paper, blended and smoothed and definition lines made with Faber Castell 9000 series pencils.
